Master of Dungeon vs Voyage
Master of Dungeon is a free AI text RPG for iOS and Android. An AI Dungeon Master narrates the story, you choose an action or type your own, and dice and skills decide the outcome. Voyage is Latitude's AI RPG platform, in open beta since August 2026. A World Engine tracks the state of the setting and resolves actions with skill checks while the AI narrates; players join free public servers, host private worlds for friends or run a scene in DM mode.

AI Dungeon vs Voyage: how Latitude's two games differ
AI Dungeon and Voyage both come from Latitude, and Voyage is not a replacement: Latitude says AI Dungeon is still supported. The difference is who runs the game. In AI Dungeon you co-write a story with the AI, choosing Do, Say, Story or See for each turn, and there is no rules engine, dice or character stats. In Voyage you play one character inside a simulated world. Its World Engine tracks health, inventory, currency, relationships and long-term consequences, and actions go through skill checks before the AI narrates them.
Multiplayer works differently too. AI Dungeon lets friends join an adventure with an eight-digit code and has no set player limit. Voyage has free public servers hosted by Voyage, private worlds you share with up to four invited players, and a DM mode in which one player guides the scene and speaks for the non-player characters. Only the host uses their plan's allowance.
Creation follows the same split. AI Dungeon is built around Scenarios, story templates that players publish for others, with Story Cards and a Memory Bank to keep details in context. Voyage is built around Worlds made in Creator Studio, where you describe a setting in chat and the AI builds it; worlds can be versioned, remixed and extended with mods.
Since April 2026 one Latitude subscription covers both games: Journey at $14.99, Legend at $29.99, Mythic at $49.99 and Ultimate at $99.99 a month. AI Dungeon has a free tier without ads; Voyage's free plan lets you join public servers and scenarios but not play solo without limits. AI Dungeon is released on the web, iOS and Android (its Steam app was retired in 2024), Voyage is in open beta on the same three platforms, and both are in English only.
Master of Dungeon sits closer to Voyage than to AI Dungeon: dice and skills decide risky actions, heroes have a class, skills and equipment that carry over, and co-op is private for up to four players. It differs in being made for phones first, with suggested actions you can tap, a free daily action allowance and 30 languages.
